What is radon?

The maximum level of acceptable radon exposure, according to the U.S. EPA, is 4.0 pCi/L. Yet, there is no safe level of radon. You can still be at risk for health effects with any level of radon. An RAdata radon test can detect low levels of radon at <0.2 pCi/L and can be purchased online.
A passive radon test is the most widely used test. We offer this test because it is a reliable and accurate device. One canister covers 2,000 square feet of each foundation. A radon canister should be exposed for a minimum of 48 hours and no more than 144 hours. Once the test is complete, the samples are sent to our lab to analyze the results.
An active radon monitor is another type of testing device. This is used for difficult to track radon levels and can often be used in real estate transactions. By using an active radon monitor you also measure barometric pressure and humidity to determine if radon levels were lowered through proper methods or through artificial means.
Radon Treatment
If it is determined that radon gas is present in your home RAdata can help you with cost-effective treatment options. The sub-slab depressurization system is an active mitigation system that combines basic sealing to limit the amount of radon seeping into your home.
An RAdata mitigation system does not detract from the appearance of your home. Our systems are comprised of a hose that vents radon out of the home with the help of a fan, through a small hole in the floor of the basement. Have a crawl space in your home? A sub-slap depressurization system can also be installed there!
Sealing your home is not a foolproof radon mitigation plan. Yes, sealing is a component of reducing radon in the home, however, the EPA does not recommended it as an effective method to mitigate radon levels.
