Testing for radon is a fairly simple process. The most common method is a charcoal canister. It simply involves opening the canister and leaving it in place for 2 to 4 days. Each test will provide exact instruction on use and placement.

The testing device(s) should be placed in the lowest level of the home suitable for occupancy. This means testing in the lowest level that could potentially be used as a living area.

There are a few additional guidelines to remember when testing. RAdata has created a checklist for homeowners to review to ensure an accurate test.
